JurassiDiet Gut Load comes in several sizes, ranging from 50 grams to 120 grams.<\/p>\n

According to JurassiPet, ingredients in this gut-load include alfalfa, krill meal, fish oil, Vitamins B12, E, C, D3 and more. It’s guaranteed to contain at least 50% protein (compared to 3% for some other products). The company claims that your turtle will be more interested in feeding when you give him prey that’s eaten this product than any other gut-load product.<\/p>\n

It has all the necessary nutrients your box turtle needs to stay healthy. That includes protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals.<\/p>\n

It does not contain products like corn meal or soy. These things can actually prevent your pet from absorbing enough calcium. What it does contain is alfalfa, which has a very beneficial calcium to phosphorus (Ca:P) ratio (6:1). Remember, your turtle needs to maintain a Ca:P ratio in her body at around 2:1. Since many of the fresh food you may be feeding have a lower ratio than this, having something with a higher ratio can help even things out.<\/p>\n

JurassiPet also points out that this product does not double as a hydration source. According to the company, combination products tend to be too low in protein and dry out too fast. Instead, JurassiPet recommends you use separate gut-load and hydration cubes. It’s a little more expensive, but it works much better.<\/p>\n

Ease of Use\/How to Use JurassiDiet Gut Load<\/h2>\n

Remember, you’re using gut load to feed the prey (crickets, worms, etc) that you will give to your box turtle later. Simply give them some of this daily until you feed them to your pet. The first time you use it, pay attention to how well the prey items are eating it. The JurassiPet website suggests you may have to moisten it for some prey animals.<\/p>\n

According to JurassiPet, your animal should be healthier, brighter and have a better appetite after just one month of gut-loading his prey with JurassiDiet.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there’s just not much information about this product other than what JurassiPet tells us. Most of the online stores just repeat what the JurassiPet site says. And apparently nobody has been either excited or disappointed enough to write a review. At least not that we could find.<\/p>\n

We do like JurassiPet. It seems to be a reputable company with good products.<\/p>\n
