Baby Spotted Pond Turtles in South Carolina: These beautiful animals are native to India and the surrounding area, where they’re subject to poaching. But the Turtle survival Alliance is working to help the species survive.

Green sea turtle nests in South Carolina, too!: These turtles are very rare in the state. Only 4 of the 4,748 nests in the state are green sea turtle nests. 😲

3 Lucky Turtles: And a chance for you to help them. OK, the turtles weren’t too lucky when they got hit by cars. But ending up at the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center was lucky. Two of them would certainly have died without treatment.

And now for your chance to help: A generous donor is matching all donations until August 15, up to $10 thousand. The Center’s only funding comes from donations, so every dollar counts! Link to donate is in story. (Please note: We have not vetted this organization. Please do your own due diligence before donating.)

The Navy’s tracking turtles: It wants to be sure its training and other activities don’t hurt the sea turtles.

Wisconsin’s Painted Turtles: Babies often spend the winter in their nest, before coming out in the spring.

Vibrators for turtles? Apparently yes, for science. Using a vibrator can help scientists tell a turtle’s sex. It’s pretty reliable for certain species! 😲

Chad is back home: The loggerhead sea turtle spent 9 months recovering after being rescued from cargo netting.

Endangered turtles avoiding busy beach: The caretta caretta sea turtles have laid fewer than half the number of nests this year compared to last year. Apparently tourists are partying on the beach all night long. 🙁 (Turkey)
