Studying the Gulf Coast Box Turtle: For some reason this subspecies of box turtle hasn’t been studied much. One student at Antioch University New England wants to change that.

Gigi touched so many: But the blind loggerhead who called the Navarre Beach conservation center home was humanely euthanized last week. Her CT scan showed heart failure, and everyone agreed it was time to say goodbye.

In happier news, it’s baby sea turtles! We can’t get enough of these little guys. Watch them escape from their nest, tumble over a little hill, and finally make it to the sea!

Kudos to anyone who stops to help a turtle in need. Two truly good men here.

Turtle hero to the rescue after hit & run: The driver didn’t stop. But this man did. He brought the badly injured turtle to a clinic, named it P’Tao and started documenting its treatment on Facebook.

Sadly, P’Tao has passed: His injuries were just too bad. But his story did bring more awareness (and donations) to the center that treated him and also cares for other turtles.

How did she do that?! A sea turtle managed to slip onto its back in Cozumel, Mexico. A kind tourist saw her and flipped her back over. Of course, he filmed it, and watching her head back to sea is beautiful.
